Telespazio - 50 Years of Space History

A photographic exhibition traces the history of 50 years and Telespazio of Italy by changes in the telecommunications field to those in the space industry. Ara Pacis Museum: 19 to 21 October 2011.

The exhibition, conceived and curated by Telespazio, will trace - using vintage images, installations and a documentary made by History Rai - the most significant milestones of 50 years of life in society, up through October 18, 1961 to the foresight of Italcable and Rai Italy to open the doors of Space, and so to participate in our country to the experimentation of new forms of communications through satellites.

When the Piana del Fucino, Abruzzo, was laid in 1962 the foundations of what would become the world's largest space center, engineers led by Telespazio Piero Fanti already sensed the extraordinary possibilities offered by modern communications, thanks to satellites perspectives and dreams could materialize given in 1945 by scientist and science fiction writer Arthur C. Clarke.
